Hi! I am Joy... mother of two daughters, physical therapist, Kripalu yoga teacher, La Leche League Leader, curious earthling.
I've been teaching yoga since 2008 and received my Kripalu certification in 2010. Since graduating with my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from SUNY Stony Brook in 2015, I have enjoyed weaving the ancient art of yoga with the newer perspective of physiotherapy to help people reach their movement goals. I completed a clinical internship in women's health, and enjoy working with this population in particular. The concepts of Anatomy Trains myofascial meridians and relevant research deeply informs my PT practice, along with lifelong learning focused on women's health/pelvic floor work, manual therapies, and new approaches for functional movement and neuromuscular re-education.
My own movement practice brings me in closer contact with my core and feeling at home in my body, rooted in this present moment. I serve others in this movement realm so they also may find core connection and calm and ease within.
As a LLL Leader, I am passionate about supporting new parents and babies breastfeed so the nursing dyad may thrive. If you need breastfeeding help, free support is available at lllalliance.org and locally to Lamoille County with the email contact llloflamoillecounty@gmail.com.
